Salem, Ore – Holiday sales at Lancaster Mall
showed some tremendous increases during the
2010 season. "Sales and traffic were up
considerably for many of the tenants, making
this the best holiday season in several
years", according to Bunni Oslund-Fisk, Mall
Manager.
Natalie Gipson, store manager with Bath and
Body said, "We had a real profitable holiday
with our new test program the "Gifting
Guru". Our district was the only one to
launch this program nationwide. It was a
tremendous success, making us # 2 in the
district and showing 4th quarter sales up
6%.
Pearl Hergert, manager with Kay Jewelers
said, "Sales were phenomenal, we were up
over 25% during the holidays".
The shoe stores faired well this season
also, Mike Deranleau, store manager with
Journeys said, "We were up over 20% this
holiday, the economy was better and
customers were shopping and buying the
latest shoe trends".
The larger department stores also
experienced gains this holiday. Kimberly
Ellich, store manager with Burlington Coat
Factory said, "It was a great Christmas for
our store". According to Suzanne Bird, store
manager at The Sports Authority, "We had a
really great season; traffic was up 5% and
sales were also up".
Hundreds of these shoppers also helped those
less fortunate by giving to organizations
featured at Lancaster Mall during the
holidays. Santa's Food Drive, the Oregon's
Department of Human Services and the United
States Marines Corp Toys for Tots Collection
Event, and the Salvation Army's Tree of
Giving all benefitted from the generosity of
the mall shoppers and tenants.

with over 650,000 sq. ft. of leasable area.

OLD NAVY TO LEAVE SALEM
Posted: January 27th, 2010 8:46 AM
Lancaster Development Company announces that Old Navy will
be leaving the Lancaster Mall Shopping Center in the 1st
quarter of 2011. Old Navy has decided to leave its
successful Lancaster Mall location for a smaller store.
Their decision to move from a prominent high volume position
at the Mall to a location in Keizer is based on a corporate
directive driven by Wall Street to reduce store sizes and
lower costs and does not reflect on their successful 10-year
experience at Lancaster Mall. Lancaster Mall tenants have
continued to perform well and deliver strong sales even
during the recession.
Gap, Inc., which owns Old Navy, will no longer have a store
in the City of Salem, believing they can draw their
customers out to Keizer. "While we are disappointed in Old
Navy's decision to leave, especially since this store has
historically been a high sales volume store for them in the
region, we are extremely excited about the opportunity it
creates. This location is one of the premier sites in Salem
with 2-story exposure to Lancaster Drive at the main
entrance to the Mall", stated Jon Hummelt, partner of
Lancaster Development Company. Lancaster Development Company
is already in discussions with tenants and plans on
selecting the best retailer for the Mall in the near future.

THE MAC STORE COMES TO LANCASTER MALL
December 2007
SALEM, OR- The chain of popular Mac
Stores is extending into the newly refurbished Lancaster
Mall, Kevin Anderson, President & CEO of Computer Stores NW
announced today.
"With the surging popularity of the Macintosh and the iPod,
we felt it was the right time to put a store into one of the
highest profile shopping centers in the Salem area,"
Anderson says. "Never before in Apple's history has the Mac
been more interesting to more people than it is today, and
we're certain it will be for many years to come."
The Mac Store is currently a seven-store chain located
throughout the Northwest. Two more stores are slated for
opening in January; one in Kent Station in Kent, Washington,
and another in the Clackamas Town Center in the Portland
area. Already one of Apple's largest independently-owned
specialists, The Mac Store is working to extend its reach
into areas where Apple is currently under-represented.
"When something is as popular as Apple products are, you
really can't have enough outlets," Anderson continues. "But
the Northwest has also been a bastion of iPod and Mac
popularity when compared to other areas around the country.
We think it's because Northwesterners are more inclined to
be creative, as well as independent thinkers, both of which
describe most passionate Mac users."
Anderson went on to say the company is investing well over a
million dollars in upgrades and expansion to its retail
presence. "Customers deserve an upscale setting for a
product with the high quality of the Mac and iPod. Combine
that with our excellent service and support, and we have a
lot of reason to be optimistic about these moves."
The Mac Store near Lloyd Center is nearing completion of its
current upgrade, and the two current stores in the Seattle
area are scheduled for the same during the first part of
next year.
The Lancaster Mall store is expected to be open on December
1st.
